Easter Cheer

My spring lamb garland looks very seasonal hanging in our front window. There are some lambs in a field quite nearby but we havn't been on a long walk with our dog Jodie for over a week. She has had a growth removed from her back leg and is making a slow recovery because of problems with the stitches coming undone twice. She has been feeling quite sorry for herself. Thankfully the growth is completely benign and Jo will be back to her normal self soon.
So inbetween trips to the vets and dog sitting I've had time to cut out a few new shapes. I am planning a Greyhounds running garland but need a few more shapes yet. As there has been a labrador population explosion in Wylam, I have made a black labrador garland.
I bought a jolly polka dot table cloth for the table outside on the deck and have hung an Easter wreath on our front door. They look very cheery.

Spring Lamb Garland

Have been taking it easy on the crafting front this week, after an exhausting build up to last weeks craft market.A good opportunity to sit back and think over things and let new ideas sprout. I have managed to finish a little lamb garland today though as well as photograph a couple of the wreaths I have recently made.

First craft Fair.

Pixie Peg Crafts had its first craft fair today, in the Grainger Market in Newcastle. It was an early start and with Robyns help I was setting up my stall by 8:20am this morning. I got lots of nice positive feedback from passers-by and made a reasonable number of sales on what was a slow day for crafters. It was an exciting and exhausting experience and has given me food for thought. Thankyou so much if you bought something from me today.

Garlands Galore

I was pleasantly taken by surprise today when a friend knocked on the door and asked to buy one of my garlands. She bought a cupcake design that I made at the weekend. I was in such a rush that I didnt have much time to take a decent photo of it.

However I have expanded my garland range with a strawberries and cream design as well as a cat one.As all of the pieces are cut out by hand they are very time consuming to make, it can also be tricky to get the shapes to sit nicely and not swing upside down or back to front, careful balancing is required.

First Easter Wreaths

This week I have turned my attention to wreath making, ready for Saturdays Grainger Market craft fair. I have used Jelly eggs to make a small wreath that fits around a candle. Perhaps it would make a pretty centre piece for an Easter table.
My glue gun also came in to its own when attaching the Easter chicks to the Birch twig wreath I made. My husband Lee has been busy shaping and welding steel heart frames for some more wreaths , pictures to follow later in the week.

Pretty Hair Accessories

Here are a few snaps of the hair slides I have been busy making for the craft Fair.

Felt Butterfly hair clips

Spent a blissful half hour this afternoon sat on the bench in the front garden soaking up the warm spring sunshine, with a cup of tea and a sleeping greyhound for company. Of course I was cutting out felt shapes at the same time. Here are some pretty butterfly clips I made today. Long live the sun, bring on the butterflies!

Sweet Treats

This week has seen a flurry of work being done at Pixie Peg Crafts to prepare for my craft fair debut at Newcastles' Grainger Market on Saturday 13th March. 9am - 5pm. The market takes place every month and I'm trying it out to test the water with my wears.
I've made several hair clips, cupcake, strawberry and heart and a few pink bunnies for the Easter tree. Robyn wore a cupcake hair clip to school and it was very popular with the girls in her class. I am awaiting an order of felt and hope to finish garlands etc this week and turn to wreath making next week. I'm very excited about the craft fair and can't wait to see how my work goes down. Please come along if you can, I'll be delighted to see you!
